Please mark your calendars for SKYLAND’S 95th REUNION to be held the weekend of August 3-5, 2012.  We are so excited to welcome back former campers, counselors, administrative staff and friends as we celebrate 95 years of creating amazing summer for young women.  We hope you can make it!!

Join us for Skyland’s first annual Mother-Daughter Weekend June 9 – June 11, 2012.  As a Skyland guest, you will arrive on Saturday afternoon and will experience “life as a camper” until noon on Monday.  There will be horseback riding, tennis, archery, swimming, s’mores, clubhouse activities and so much more!!

Here’s how it works:

If a new camper’s registration form has YOUR NAME as the referral source, AND if she attends Skyland as a camper, you will receive $100.  It’s that simple.  Really.  In fact, you can even select HOW you receive your money!

1. $100 Visa Gift Card (who can’t use some extra cash?!?!)
2. $100 credit to your camper’s spending account (more fun for your camper and less out of YOUR pocket!!)
3. OR, you can donate your $100 to the Skyland Scholarship Fund (great opportunity to share Skyland Camp with those who aren’t in a financial position to get to Skyland)

Eligible participants include:  EVERYONE!  Counselors, staff, former staff/counselors, alumnae, parents, friends, anyone who knows about Skyland – EVERYONE!

The only caveat is that the camper must be a FIRST time camper and they have to list YOU on their Camper Registration Form when they complete the section entitled “I became interested in Skyland through …”

Once the new camper is on Skyland Hill, contact us and we’ll send the money your way. Easy as pie.  (unless you’ve ever really BAKED a homemade pie and in that case, it’s much EASIER than pie)

So go forth … get your Skyland Garb on … talk about what Skyland means to YOU … and earn some extra cash!

The Skyland community lost a dear friend when Mark Rathbone passed away peacefully last evening, November 14, 2011.

In fact, nobody knew Skyland Hill better than Mark.  As a primary groundskeeper and employee for 70 years, he knew every nuance of every building, outpost, attic, crawl space, tree and rock on the hill.

His dedication was unparalleled and his presence will be sorely missed.

Services will be held at his Clyde church on Saturday, 11/19/11.
