Skyland offers many opportunites for campers to reflect upon the important things in life. Each morning, campers and staff gather at the Big House to raise the flag and sing a patriotic song. Rest hour also affords campers the time to consider all the many gifts each day brings. Sundays are a special time at Skyland. Sunday is a quiet day when the weekday schedule is not observed. At 10:30, all gather in the Club House for singing and fellowship. The campers are then free to swim, play tennis, or enjoy quiet time. The midday Sunday Dinner with ice cream and chocolate sauce has been a weekly highlight for over 80 years. Supper is served picnic fashion on the lawn. At 8:00, vesper services are held, after which the evening is spent singing camp songs.
