APPLICATION AND HIRING TIMELINE

Step 1: Complete your online application.
Be prepared to answer the following questions:

• The role and dates you are interested in working
• If applying to be a Counselor, Jr. Counselor, or LEAD during Girls Camp, what age group are you most interested in working with (rising 1st-10th grades)?
• What activities are you interested in leading?
• Education history
• Employment and volunteer history (it’s ok if this is your first job!)
• Any certifications you hold

Step 2: Complete interviews with Skyland’s Leadership Team.
After we review your application, we will be in touch to schedule interviews. New staff will complete 2-3 interviews. Returning staff will complete 1-2 interviews.

Step 3: Background check and reference checks.
You will be asked to provide 2-3 professional or academic references (teachers, professors, and managers are great – no family or family friends) and submit information for a background check.

Step 4: Hiring decision!
After we complete your background check and reference checks, we will be in contact with a hiring decision!

The full process takes 4-6 weeks, depending on the time it takes to schedule interviews and hear back from references. If you have any questions along the way, we are always available for a chat!
