A Century of Connection in the North Carolina Mountains
Mother - Daughter Camp: Shared Memories, Lasting Bonds
At Skyland Camp & Retreats, Mother - Daughter Camp invites you to step away from busy routines to reconnect in a space built for togetherness. Since 1917, Skyland has welcomed campers to have fun and explore at our camp nestled between Asheville and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Our program is designed for moms and daughters (along with grandmothers, aunts, and cousins) to share in old-fashioned fun, free from digital distractions. Campfires, crafts, laughter, and a friendly talent show are just some highlights from the weekend. From screened-in sleeping porches that offer a treehouse feel to delicious family-style meals, every detail encourages genuine connection. Mother-Daughter Camp is the perfect blend of play and connections for daughters between the ages of 6-14. Our staff creates a welcoming atmosphere that honors fun and exploration while ensuring your comfort during your stay. The memories made here will echo long after you leave the mountains.
Why Moms Choose Skyland
Magical Moments Lead to Lifelong Memories
Mother-Daughter Camp at Skyland is about enjoying the little, but super powerful and memorable, moments together – like chasing fireflies, playing freeze tag, roasting marshmallows, and riding a horse for the first time. Let us do the planning and the cooking while you and your daughter play together in the mountains. A mix of mom-and-daughter activities is complemented with moms-only and daughters-only activities so that moms and daughters all get to experience the thrill of trying new things and building friendships. At Skyland, you will be spoiled with delicious meals, cozy and comfortable sleeping arrangements, and a schedule that is crafted for you, all while enjoying the simple pleasures in life. Campers return year after year to continue enjoy the magic of a Skyland summer.
What to Expect: Activities, Traditions, and Comfort
A Fun Experience with Activities for Every Duo
Each day at Mother-Daughter Camp is filled with fun camp activities and plenty of opportunities for connection with each other and camp friends. Moms and daughters spend the mornings going to activities separately and the afternoons going to activities together. Activities include archery, horseback riding, tie-dye, dance, swimming, games, and more. The days are active and jam-packed with excitement and exploration. Each evening, we gather in the Clubhouse for an all-camp activity. Activities include group games, theme nights, and Skyland’s Talentpalooza on the last night. Theme nights are announced in the Spring and could be anything from a PJ Party to a Disco night. Talentpalooza is Skyland’s famously friendly talent show! All moms and daughters will take the stage to perform for one another in a fabulously goofy show. To close the weekend, we enjoy a Tea Party breakfast, followed by a Trust Walk before saying goodbye.
